The battle was about to begin. Enemy ships were rapidly approaching, and Keira and her crew were ready to fight alongside the Helion. The floor of the chamber trembled, but this time it wasn’t just a small shake. The lights around them began to distort, as if reality itself was starting to unravel.
“Lucas, do you see that?” Keira shouted, feeling the ground quaking beneath her feet.
Before he could respond, an explosion of white light engulfed them. The sound of the battle disappeared, and time seemed to slow down. Reality around them twisted like an image reflected on water. Keira tried to scream, but her voice vanished into the void. Within seconds, she was pulled into a vortex of swirling lights.
Keira woke up in an open field, feeling the warmth of sunlight on her skin. No, it wasn’t sunlight… there were three suns. The sky was a deep blue, unlike anything she had ever seen. In the distance, gleaming towers stretched towards the sky, and ships floated gently in the air.
She stood up, feeling unsteady, and saw Lucas approaching.
“Are you okay?” he asked, his eyes scanning their surroundings in confusion.
“I think so… but what just happened? Where are we?” Keira asked, still trying to process how they had been pulled out of the battle.
Keira and Lucas were dazed, struggling to grasp the magnitude of what had just occurred. They had been transported to an unknown place, an alien world that radiated both mystery and grandeur.
Before they could say more, a sound from behind caught their attention. They turned quickly and saw a tall, slender figure with pale skin and piercing eyes. A Helion. He stood at a safe distance, watching them with suspicion.
“Who are you?” the Helion asked, his voice calm but his stance defensive. In his hand, he held a small device, ready to be activated.
Keira stepped forward, but Lucas grabbed her arm. The Helion seemed prepared for any suspicious movement.
“Wait, we can explain… we… we’re not a threat,” Keira started, her voice cautious.
The Helion narrowed his eyes.
“That remains to be seen. You don’t belong here. And your clothing…” He inspected Keira and Lucas’s outfits, clearly different from what the Helion wore. “Where are you from?”
Lucas exchanged a quick glance with Keira before answering.
“We’re explorers… but there was an… incident. We were about to engage in battle, and then… everything went dark. When I woke up, I was here.”
The Helion, still suspicious, continued to study them. He seemed to be weighing whether or not to believe their story.
“A space-time distortion? Perhaps…”
“If you truly came from another era, that’s something we’ll need to verify,” the Helion said. “Follow me, but know this—you will be under constant surveillance.”
The Helion motioned for them to follow.
“Come. You’ll get your answers, but understand that you’re being watched at all times.”
As they walked toward the city, Keira took the opportunity to ask what might have happened.
“This… temporal lapse. How is that even possible?” she asked.
The Helion continued walking, his gaze fixed ahead.
“The Heart of Helix is a powerful creation. It’s the center of our knowledge, capable of manipulating the most fundamental forces of the universe. Time, space, gravity… all can be altered, if we know how. But there are risks. When you say you’ve come from another era, it suggests the Heart may have caused a distortion in the fabric of reality.”
Lucas furrowed his brow.
“So, it was an accident? We were brought here by chance?”
The Helion paused for a moment, considering.
“Perhaps it wasn’t an accident. Maybe the Heart reacted to something… or someone. Maybe, in some way, it brought you here for a purpose we don’t yet understand.”
Keira and Lucas exchanged looks, the gravity of the situation beginning to weigh on them.
“So… the Heart of Helix could be trying to tell us something?” Keira asked.
The Helion didn’t answer immediately, but after a long silence, he finally spoke.
“The Heart is a complex entity. It holds secrets that even our civilization doesn’t fully understand. If it brought you here, there may be more at play than you realize.”
Keira and Lucas followed the Helion toward the city, observing the alien landscapes around them. Each step seemed to draw them deeper into a world so advanced it was almost magical. Yet the tension between them and the Helion was palpable. Every moment, Keira could feel his vigilant eyes, as if waiting for them to make a wrong move.
As they walked, the Helion said little. He studied them silently, his movements calculated and precise. Keira knew that any poorly chosen words could further strain their already fragile relationship with the Helion.
“How much further?” Lucas asked, trying to break the uncomfortable silence.
The Helion cast him a brief glance but didn’t immediately respond.
“Soon,” he said finally, in a vague tone.
Keira felt the tension in the air. It was clear they weren’t welcome yet, and it would take more than words to earn the trust of the Helion.
Finally, after a long walk, they arrived at an elevated point, where they could see the entire city. The shimmering towers gleamed under the light of the three suns, and a network of floating bridges and roads connected the various buildings. It was a breathtaking sight.
“This… is incredible,” Keira murmured, unable to hide her awe.
The Helion didn’t respond immediately, but his eyes watched Keira’s reaction with curiosity. He seemed to be analyzing every gesture, every word.
“You come from a different era… but it seems your civilizations still have much to learn,” the Helion said, without arrogance, but with a tone of observation.
Lucas sighed, feeling the weight of the Helion’s distrust.
“Look, we just want to understand what’s going on and how we ended up here. We’re not here to cause any trouble,” Lucas said.
The Helion gave a slight smile, though his face remained serious.
“You say that, but your intentions are still unknown. I don’t trust you… yet.” He paused before continuing. “However, I’m not a fool. I know the Heart of Helix may have something to do with your arrival here. And if it’s true that you came from another era, then perhaps there’s something to be learned from you.”
Seeing an opportunity to make progress, Keira stepped a little closer.
“We want to help. We know something terrible will happen to your people in the future, and we want to prevent it. But to do that, we need your trust.”
The Helion hesitated for a moment, pondering Keira’s words.
“Trust is not something that’s easily given… especially in times like these,” he said cautiously. “But you’ll have the chance to prove your intentions. We’ll take you to our academy. There, you can see for yourselves what we’re trying to protect. But be warned: you will be under constant surveillance. Any suspicious move… and you’ll be treated as enemies.”
Keira nodded, knowing that was the best they could hope for at the moment.
The walk to the academy was silent. Keira and Lucas followed closely behind the Helion, but they could feel the eyes of the other Helions on them, watching them with suspicion. Whenever they passed a group, the murmurs grew louder, and the stares became more intense.
Upon arriving at the academy, they were greeted by a group of Helion, all dressed in long, gleaming robes. The leader of the group stepped forward, observing Keira and Lucas with a neutral expression.
“These are the visitors?” he asked the Helion guiding them.
“Yes, they claim to have come from another era, brought by the Heart of Helix,” the Helion replied, never taking his eyes off Keira and Lucas.
The leader of the Helion group gestured for the two to enter the academy, but not before issuing a final warning.
“You will be monitored at every step. Do not cause trouble, and perhaps we can reach an understanding,” he said, with a coldness that left no doubt about the seriousness of the situation.
Inside the academy, Keira and Lucas were led into a large room filled with holograms and floating control panels. It was a place of pure knowledge but also of surveillance. The Helions seemed to be everywhere, watching their every move.
“This is where we study the forces that govern the universe,” said the Helion, who continued to guide them. “This is your chance to see what we’re trying to protect. But remember, you’re still not free from suspicion.”
Lucas looked around, fascinated by the technology surrounding him. He wanted to learn more, but he knew that any excessive curiosity could be misinterpreted.
